Hallowe’en at Disneyland Paris

Hallowe’en at Disneyland Paris

My very first Disneyland Paris visit was during October 2018, and Hallowe’en was in full swing! October is a great time to visit, the weather is perfect for strolling around the resort as it isn’t as hot as the summer and not as cold as the winter. The parks are decorated for the season, with special entertainment and snacks available.

Disneyland Paris crowds are influenced by school holidays across Europe so it seems there’s almost always one country or another off. For us, the Scottish schools tend to have a week off in the middle of October, about a week earlier than the French schools (which are off for the last couple of weeks in October, leading up to All Saints Day). While the parks are far from empty, they’re certainly quieter than the Easter or Summer school holidays.

The seasonal offerings can change year to year, but have stayed similar between our 2022 and 2023 trips. Here’s my favourite things about Hallowe’en at DLP.

The Food

The restaurants around the resort have yummy Halloween treats! Last year we dined at Agrabah Café Restaurant and Plaza Gardens, which are both buffet restaurants. The buffets add a selection of Halloween desserts during the season, which were the same at both locations. We had pumpkin macarons filled with chocolate ganache; Vampire Mickey chocolate cups filled with mandarin and chocolate puree; and cupcakes topped with orange icing and chocolate hooks.

Victoria’s Home-style Restaurant switches up their seasonal treats, with a larger mousse cake this year, but last year it was a selection of mini Villains themed pastries. These were all really tasty! Neither of us are really fans of mousse cakes, which are really better shared between a larger group.

There’s also snacks available at different locations throughout the parks – usually some form of shortbread biscuits. In 2023 it was a bat-shaped biscuit with Vampire Mickey, in 2022 it was a tombstone-shaped biscuit sandwiched with chocolate. Both were nice, but it’d be great to have some variety!

The Decorations

I love the decorations around the resort! The decorations greet you as soon as you enter Disneyland Park, and continue down Main Street, USA. There’s ghosts in Town Square, and garlands stretching across the street.

Frontierland is decorated with pumpkin people and harvest themed decorations. And of course it’s the home of Phantom Manor!

And of course, the hotels couldn’t be left out, with themed pumpkins outside.

The Parade

Mickey’s Halloween Celebration hasn’t changed much in a couple of years, but it’s so much fun. It generally runs a couple of time a day giving plenty of chances to see it.

The parade begins with harvest themed floats and dancers…

… but my favourite float is the Phantom Manor with Mickey, complete with Pluto statue and Huey, Dewey and Louis on the other side!

The Costumes

The parade is a great chance to see the characters in their costumes, but Mickey and Minnie switch to their seasonal outfits for greeting guests at the train station morning and night. I love seeing them at the station any time of year!
